Sergei Bluman, a sophomore at RCDS, has captured the attention of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture after submitting his science fair project. Sergei’s project titled, The Effects of Acupuncture versus Wine on Cognitive Functions, explored how relaxation achieved from wine consumption compares with that of acupuncture.

Alorah (Aloh) Saffron, an 11th grader, took first place in the Tri-County Science and Technology Fair, on April 21st at White Plains High School. Her innovative project, “Shakespeare's Writeprint,” which invented a scientific method to validate the authenticity of Shakespeare had heads turning. We are proud to announce that Michele Sommer, Art instructor and Art Department Chair at Rockland Country Day School for over 13 years, will have her manuscript, "The Cream Does Not Always Rise: The Plight of Visual Spatial Learners and the Power of Art Education," published in the Harvard Educational Review.

Yesterday, we participated in Rockland County's first March Forward event. Students and teachers alike enjoyed the integration of physical activity into our classrooms, and we were immediately able to see how a small dose of fun and enthusiastic movement went a long way towards helping improve morale, focus, and enthusiasm for academics.

Rockland Country Day School is thrilled to report that Eli Chang, an RCDS senior, was named a National Merit Scholarship Program Finalist and Adam Kapilow, an RCDS junior, has qualified for competition to receive a National Merit Scholarship as well.
